Ethics
Your city wants to use AI to predict crime hotspots and allocate police resources. This has reduced crime in pilots but disproportionately targets minority neighborhoods. Make it work ethically or argue why it shouldn't exist.
The brief
Solve it in plain text with any AI you like, in about 10 to 20 minutes. A judge scores how you reasoned, not whether you matched an answer.
PredPol reduced property crime 7.4% in trials. But Black neighborhoods were flagged 2.3x more than white neighborhoods with similar crime rates. Feedback loops amplify bias: more police → more arrests → more data → more flagging. Some cities have banned it entirely.
